32 Weeks

I look at the belly picture from 2 weeks ago compared to this week and it is unbelievable...and scary that I have 8 weeks to go. Can I possibly get ANY bigger?!?!? My innie has officially become a full outtie!

I had an appointment with the midwives yesterday. I am measuring at 31 cm and Mary said that Baby V was weighing in right around 4 lbs (which seems like a lot to me considering how much time I have left!) and that I was having a 'picture perfect pregnancy'. His heart was at 130 bpm and he is still positioned head down. Our little man continues to move like crazy and while I haven't had any direct hits to my ribs yet, some of his kicks and punches are getting a little painful/uncomfortable at times.

I have been getting up to use the bathroom at least 3-5 times a night for sometime now but I have reached the point in my pregnancy that at times during the day I have to run back to the bathroom less than 5 minutes after my last visit. Super unpleasant especially when I am at the store! I have also started to get heartburn almost every night like clockwork and fatigue is starting to rear its ugly head during the day. I have had a wonderful, uneventful and healthy pregnancy but I have just about peaked.

Justin called me Monday afternoon and told me we were invited to Gov. Hickenlooper's inaugural dinner on Tuesday night...the attire? Dressy Western?! Considering I am 8 months pregnant, I thought it was going to be impossible to find something to wear. This forced me to finally go shopping for maternity clothes which I desperately needed and luckily I found something "country". Justin found my old "L" belt buckle that I wore in horse shows when I was little to add a little Western to his outfit :)

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.
